[BOULDER, CO]The Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) is excited to announce its participation in GivingTuesday and Colorado Gives Day this holiday season. GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement, is set to unfold on November 28, with gifts collected throughout November contributing to SWEEP’s GivingTuesday total. Colorado Gives Day, the state’s largest 24-hour giving event that has raised over $415 million since its inception in 2010, kicks off on December 5, with early giving starting on November 1.

SWEEP’s commitment is to shape a healthy, equitable, and low carbon future by advancing energy efficiency, electrification, and clean transportation solutions in the southwestern region of the United States. This mission is realized through a multi-faceted approach involving research, data analysis, policy development, advocacy, education, communication, and valuable partnerships. SWEEP actively engages with diverse stakeholders, including utilities, public utility commissions, state and federal agencies, local governments, businesses, nonprofit coalitions, and elected officials in order to achieve its goals.

Recognizing that energy efficiency serves as the initial and most cost-effective step in the journey towards a clean energy future for communities throughout the Southwest, SWEEP has a strong track record in advancing energy efficiency. This includes influencing utility policies, advocating for progressive building energy codes, and promoting efficient transportation solutions. Contributions made to SWEEP play a pivotal role in advancing its ongoing efforts to extend the benefits of these initiatives to all communities in the region.

“Supporting SWEEP is an investment in our collective future,” says Elise Jones, Executive Director of SWEEP. “Our mission is to champion efficient energy solutions that are cleaner, safer, less wasteful, more affordable and friendlier to our climate, with a focus on lifting up those most vulnerable and underserved.”

Donations to SWEEP will empower its dedicated team to tackle the climate crisis, ensure safe and comfortable homes for all, expand clean and convenient transportation options, and enhance the resilience and equity of communities across the Southwest. SWEEP’s impact is not only regional but extends beyond borders, making it a worthy cause for this year’s GivingTuesday and Colorado Gives Day. Join SWEEP in making a difference on these special days, and together, let’s create a brighter, more sustainable future.
